Developing a choir heritage project

18 August @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

The Pink Singers at 40 project has been running throughout the choir’s recent anniversary year. Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project has enabled the choir to unlock their archives for the benefit of the public, with support from a range of partners, as well as improve the governance structures that help the choir run effectively as a charity. In this workshop the project leaders will discuss how this ambitious piece of work was developed and structured, and share tools and resources to support other LGBTQ+ choirs in preserving their stories and heritage, and improving their organisational governance. The session will showcase outputs including a short film, podcast series, oral histories, leadership delegation scheme, and the choir’s newly-catalogued archives.

Book this workshop

We’re thrilled to announce the preliminary bookings for our diverse and inspiring workshop programme at the Hand in Hand Festival! To ensure everyone has a fair chance to attend their desired sessions, we’re kindly asking participants to indicate their first, second, and third choice of workshops.

With a limited number of spaces available, we want to make sure as many of you as possible get the opportunity to join in the creativity and learning. If a workshop proves particularly popular, rest assured we’ll do our best to confirm attendance for at least one of your chosen workshops. Should space allow, you may also be able to attend your second and/or third choices.

To express your interest in attending a workshop, please complete the form on our website at handinhandfestival.org/workshops by 12 July. After this date, we’ll begin the process of confirming workshop spaces.
