Welcoming and including new people in your choir

16 August @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Inclusion – diversity – access – what do they mean?
Why should you think about becoming more inclusive?
How to go about opening up your choir to new and more people – and retain the ones you already have
Who’s job is it anyway?

It will touch on, but not focus on, musical inclusion, e.g. trans voices, specific neurodiversities or disabilities and their effect on the voice or singing

It will provide lots of signposting to useful organisations or specific resources which specialise in one of these areas, so attendees can learn more about a topic they are particularly interested in and would like help with

I will look at- 2-3 specific barriers and ask people to think about them and these will be focused on Global Majority participants, neurodivergence, participants with disabilities.

Book this workshop

We’re thrilled to announce the preliminary bookings for our diverse and inspiring workshop programme at the Hand in Hand Festival! To ensure everyone has a fair chance to attend their desired sessions, we’re kindly asking participants to indicate their first, second, and third choice of workshops.

With a limited number of spaces available, we want to make sure as many of you as possible get the opportunity to join in the creativity and learning. If a workshop proves particularly popular, rest assured we’ll do our best to confirm attendance for at least one of your chosen workshops. Should space allow, you may also be able to attend your second and/or third choices.

To express your interest in attending a workshop, please complete the form on our website at handinhandfestival.org/workshops by 12 July. After this date, we’ll begin the process of confirming workshop spaces.
